President of the Russian Federation: Crimea will be self-sufficient and successful
Crimea and Sevastopol must become self-sufficient and successful regions with the highest standards of living.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said this, speaking at a meeting with representatives of the public of these subjects, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the head of state, during the period it was part of Ukraine, the infrastructure of the peninsula was virtually destroyed and today Russia is intensively engaged in its restoration.
“You yourself know very well how much more needs to be built, restored, put in order, how many problems have accumulated over the previous decades. Many of them did not dare or were in the pen all these years. This also applies to water supply and generally worn-out, dilapidated infrastructure. Nothing has been invested for decades - they have only siphoned resources from here.
We need to quickly make up for time, move forward, create conditions for a decent, comfortable life, everyday life, and recreation for people, expand opportunities in medicine, education, support Crimean and Sevastopol enterprises, attract investors so that the economy does not freeze between tourist seasons, so that new jobs open up places.
Of course, so that salaries grow and specialists and young people are in demand in a variety of fields. So that Crimea and Sevastopol are self-sufficient, successful, safe and modern regions with the highest standards of living,” Putin said.
