The President of Serbia received the Russian Ambassador in Belgrade
Today, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Bocan-Kharchenko discussed the most pressing issues of cooperation between the fraternal states.
Participants in the dialogue expressed hope that with an increase in the number of vaccinated people, the growth of the coronavirus disease in Russia and Serbia will be stopped, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The President of Serbia received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation at his residence, where topics of mutual interest, in particular bilateral cooperation, were discussed.
Vucic and Bocan-Harchenko also got acquainted with the progress of work on the construction of the railway from Stara Pazova to Novi Sad, which is being carried out by the Russian company RZD International and expressed satisfaction that the last sections of the track will be laid in the near future, and the process itself is moving forward in accordance with the planned dynamics.
Vučić and Bocan-Harchenko also exchanged views on a number of regional and global political issues. The Serbian President informed the Russian Ambassador about the difficult situation, which has developed around the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as well as the positions of Serbia before the resumption of negotiations in Brussels next Monday.
Vučić reiterated his gratitude for Russia’s active support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.
The interlocutors also discussed the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic in both countries, where there is a sharp increase in the number of cases. And they expressed the hope that with an increase in the number of vaccinated people, this growth will slow down.
