UEFA President assured Poroshenko that his organization will continue to ban football in Crimea

“The head of state congratulated Aleksander Čeferin on his recent election to the position of UEFA President, and also discussed the organization’s position regarding the ban on holding official football competitions in Russian-occupied Crimea,” a message on Poroshenko’s website says.
According to the press service, Poroshenko “noted UEFA’s principled position on the ban on holding official football competitions in Russian-occupied Crimea and called on the UEFA President to adhere to it in the future. Aleksander Čeferin assured that UEFA’s position on Crimea will remain unchanged.”
The UEFA President also congratulated Ukraine on hosting the UEFA Champions League final in Kyiv in 2018.
