President of Ukraine: The capture of Kyiv, Odessa and Kharkov is being prepared
Russia is preparing to seize major Ukrainian cities, but is not interested in war.
Such a controversial statement, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was voiced by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in an interview with France-Presse, Reuters and Associated Press.
He believes that the accumulation of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine “could end in a serious conflict, a serious war, a very serious provocation.”
The head of Ukraine also expressed concern about the upcoming Russian-Belarusian exercises “Zapad-2021”.
“Then tell me, why are options for the possible capture of Kyiv, Odessa, and Kharkov being worked out here, based on the information we receive?” Zelensky asserts.
They also asked him when he expected an escalation.
“Unfortunately, we must expect complications and be prepared for them every day. But I don't think it will. There is a possibility of provocations, in particular, in mid-September, when “Zapad-2021” will take place. And yet, I believe that the Russian Federation is not interested in a full-scale war,” the President of Ukraine concluded.
