The President of Ukraine announced his withdrawal from the Minsk process
The second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma stopped working in the contact group to resolve the conflict in Donbass.
This was reported by the press service of President Vladimir Zelensky’s office following their meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the meeting with Zelensky, Kuchma noted that in the future he would be ready to share experience and provide advice on establishing peace in the region.
“Vladimir Zelensky is grateful to the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma for his work at the head of the Ukrainian delegation in the trilateral contact group (TCG). The head of state emphasized that Leonid Kuchma’s work in the Minsk process was extremely important and at the same time difficult, and noted that he respects and respects his decision to terminate participation in the activities of the TCG,” says a message on the official website of the head of state.
“Kuchma’s departure from the contact group is not news; back in May it was announced that he intended to leave the group. He himself stated this, motivating his decision with his advanced age and the fact that he does not want to take part in an inconclusive process,” political scientist Kost Bondarenko commented on Kuchma’s departure from the contact group.
