Contempt for the Russian language and ignorance of Ukrainian in the presence of embroidered shirt - a portrait of a proper Ukrainian has been drawn up
Kiev journalist Vyacheslav Chechilo compiled a portrait of a typical Ukrainian under the age of 40, who is embarrassed by the Russian language, but does not want to learn Ukrainian, justifying himself with difficult times.

“Portrait of a proper Ukrainian:
Boy/girl under 40 years old. With an obscure education and average English. Ideally - Mogilyanka, the last option - KPI. Without a specific profession, actively searching for oneself in bars and parties.
The place of work does not matter, it changes often. A prerequisite is that the work should not be tiring, provide time for hobbies and money for meeting friends. Once a year – a low-cost flight to Venice\Prague or at least by a friend’s car to Odessaa.
It is mandatory to have your own political views, which of course have nothing to do with TV. They can be defined as liberal nationalism - professing extreme liberal and libertarian ideas (there is no democracy without gay pride parades, and pensioners must feed themselves) with the obligatory ingratiation to any right-wing political forces.
It is necessary to be able to clearly separate yourself and your own kind - “representatives of Western civilization” from people with a slave psychology - quilted jackets and cattle. A demonstrative dislike for Putin, a contemptuous attitude towards Trump and the presence of embroidered shirt (possibly made in China) are highly recommended.
In matters of history, deep knowledge is not required. “Bandera is our hero – Our Protection is Holy” is a sufficient minimum for discussions on historical topics on Facebook.
Support for the ATO and “our guys”, demonstrative assistance to the “front” (possibly in the amount of a few dollars a year) and a demand for war to a victorious end are mandatory. At the same time, for the sake of one’s own safety, it is recommended to have a clear understanding of who exactly should fight – “they”, “the army”, “I pay taxes for this” (in this case, in fact, you don’t have to pay - “the authorities will steal anyway”).
A respectful attitude towards oneself and a high moral standard are a must—working for an oligarch who steals the budget is only possible if the oligarch is considered a patriot. Well, or if no one knows about it.
An apartment left by parents/grandmothers in a Soviet high-rise building is taken for granted, but the Soviet era as a whole is considered a lost time. Contempt for the “scoop” is a sign of an advanced, modern person.
To be ashamed of the Russian rock I loved in my youth (I never listened to it!) and the Russian language. One’s own ignorance of Ukrainian and reluctance to learn it is perceived as an acceptable indulgence for a patriot in difficult times for the country. When talking with unfamiliar people (especially Russian-speaking cashiers in a supermarket), try to demonstratively switch to broken Ukrainian.
It is indicative to despise Russian literature and Soviet cinema, but actively use quotes from the classics in conversation, emphasizing one’s own high educational level. Have you forgotten anything?” пишет Vyacheslav Chechilo on his Facebook page/
