What does Zelensky have to do with this if we are talking about Donbass? – head of the DPR
The statements of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that residents of Donbass who consider themselves Russian should leave for Russia were received with contempt by the population of the republic.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, stated this on air on the Zvezda TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At times in this interview with Zelensky there was chaotic speech and chaotic messages. Regarding this fragment - what he meant, who will not live, who will not die, who will not be treated, and what Zelensky has to do with it, if this is about Donbass, is unclear. Strange statements to say the least, but they sound even more unsightly from the first person in the rest of Ukraine - from Zelensky.
Why should we, residents of Donbass, who were born here, grew up, raised our children, have the graves of our ancestors here, leave somewhere? Is he seriously counting on something? The question is open. Our citizens once again looked at this with contempt,” said Pushilin.
He noted that in Donbass they can clearly see how Zelensky continues the policy of de-Russification and turning Ukraine into a Russophobic territorial entity.
“He is trying to mimic the demands and interests of radicals, nationalists, whatever. From the outside, looking at this, we understand that he will never be theirs, but, nevertheless, these attempts continue.
That is, those people who supported him are completely disappointed. Those people who had hopes for peace with the arrival of Zelensky are even more disappointed. And now, when he passes certain laws about national minorities, while forgetting about Russians, this sounds absurd.
And this is very regrettable for the rest of Ukraine itself, because if you put Russophobia at the head of the state ideology, state policy, an attempt to build “anti-Russia”, and making this the main goal, you will not hold the country,” concluded the head of the DPR.
