The official website of the Investigative Committee reports this.
According to him, 41-year-old Khasan Zakaev, previously put on the international wanted list, is currently in custody; he was detained while trying to enter Crimea from Ukraine by presenting fake documents.
According to investigators, Zakayev was part of an organized criminal community headed by Shamil Basayev, and assisted in the preparation of a terrorist attack and hostage-taking in the theater center. Thus, in 2002, Zakayev organized the transportation of weapons and improvised explosive devices to Moscow, which were used by terrorists. Members of the same criminal community, a few days before the terrorist attack on Dubrovka - on October 19, they blew up a car near the McDonald's restaurant in Moscow, as a result of which 1 person was killed and 8 were injured. On the same day, they tried to blow up a car near the Tchaikovsky cinema and concert hall.
