A large-scale anti-European action took place in Warsaw with the participation of fascists
Yesterday a large-scale nationalist march took place in Warsaw, dedicated to the centenary of the restoration of Polish independence.
According to the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs, about 250 thousand people took part in the event, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Among the participants were not only Polish right-wing radicals from the OPR and All-Polish Youth, but also Italian neo-Nazis from the Forza Nuova party.
As the Polish news agency Polsatnews reports, representatives of the latter shouted anti-European slogans and even burned the EU flag.
Anti-Soviet chants were also heard at the march.
All this was accompanied by a large-scale procession of radicals with flares in their hands.
“At the head of the nationalists’ march, a banner with the inscription “God, Honor, Fatherland” was erected. It was under this slogan that the Independence March took place this year.
In addition to white and red flags, OPR emblems were flying, and there were representatives of nationalist and fascist movements from abroad, including the Forces nouvelles of Italy. The crowd chanted a slogan well known from previous independence marches: “Once with a sickle, once with a hammer, a red riffaff (bastard - translation),” writes the Polish newspaper Rzechpospolita.
The Polish press also writes that this year the march took place more calmly than in the previous one - there were no anti-Ukrainian slogans and mass arrests.
As PolitNavigator reported, a year ago Polish nationalists walked along the central streets of Warsaw with banners, among which was: “Remember Lviv and Vilnius.” And slogans sounded from the stage: “From the cradle to the grave, Polish Vilnius, Polish Lviv.”
