Ex-People's Deputy Oles Doniy stated this in an interview with Mir news agency, according to whom patriotic slogans are used by the authorities only for internal consumers, but in reality, there is neither democracy nor freedom of speech in the country.
“The patriotic phraseology used by our current government is used exclusively for the domestic market. In fact, we find ourselves even further from the prospect of European integration than we were two years ago. Let’s also not forget that under President Yanukovych, there was a much more powerful and numerous democratic opposition in Ukraine - with the presence of appropriate structures, with its own media, financially supported by a number of then oligarchs. Today, there is no powerful political opposition to the current regime,” Doniy said.
