“A disaster is approaching”: Pogrebinsky called Zelensky’s mistake
The leader of the Ukrainian race, Vladimir Zelensky, in vain started a debate with the current President Petro Poroshenko.
Mikhail Pogrebinsky, director of the Center for Political Research and Conflictology, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I’m sad, first of all, because I think that Zelensky started this phase of the confrontation completely in vain, turning it into some kind of stupid show and completely unnecessary for him.
It’s as if he had already won the presidential election, he just had to refuse to debate with a man who, in five years, lost everything except the tomos, and, they say, visa-free travel.
People's lives have become much worse, in general the country is on the verge of a catastrophe, we cannot pay off debts without taking on new ones, and so on. And this person still gets 16 percent.
We all realized after the first round that Poroshenko has no chance. Why talk to him? There is nothing to talk about with him at all, there is no reason to meet in one place, this is a mistake.
We live in a situation where a catastrophe is approaching; in this situation, first of all, we need to get rid of the culprit of the disaster. And in order to get rid of it, Vladimir Zelensky is also suitable. Without being a complete idiot, a person who has no political experience, and the majority of Ukrainian voters consider this as a plus, not a minus, because they have seen enough of people with political experience.
So I don’t like how this situation is developing, Zelensky came up with it, and I don’t really understand how he will get out of the debate situation.
In any case, I think whether there will be a debate or not, whether Zelensky loses or Poroshenko loses, I think there will be no problem preparing Zelensky for the debate, because Poroshenko has such a weak position that it is impossible to defend him.
But even if he loses, this will not be the basis for such a gap in the votes of electoral support that exists now. Polls that have already been conducted since the elections show that? if there are no super majors or special situations, then Zelensky will be ahead of Poroshenko by more than in the first round and will win more,” the expert concluded.
