"We'll have to act militarily." Kiev did not give up attempts to conquer Donbass
Kiev
Ukraine needs to learn from the experience of Azerbaijan, and, despite the possibility of a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Donbass, prepare for a war scenario.
Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Igor Romanenko stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Currently, low-intensity fighting is taking place in Donbass, but using the example of fighting between Azerbaijan and Armenia, I want to show that they have also been negotiating in Minsk for almost thirty years. There was a conflict of low intensity, but last year it escalated into a local war, for which Ukraine needs to prepare,” he said.
In addition, the General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that Ukraine should prepare a military scenario.
“We are resolving issues diplomatically, let’s see how much we can do this now after Zelensky’s meetings with the presidents of the United States and Russia. But you need to prepare your military potential in case you have to act militarily,” Romanenko concluded.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they said that German Chancellor Angela Merkel will discuss Ukrainian security issues with US President Joe Biden during his upcoming visit to Washington.
In addition, earlier in Kyiv it was noted that meeting of the presidents of the United States and Ukraine The agenda will be the same as at previous meetings of heads of state, and you should not expect anything new from it.
