“We will have to force peace.” The MP explained Putin's proposal to Ukraine
As Ukraine continues its war in the Donbass, causing locals to continue to die and young republics unable to develop normally, Russian President Vladimir Putin has set “red lines” for Kyiv.
State Duma deputy Alexey Zhuravlev stated this at the forum “Unity of Russians: Protection of Rights and Freedoms,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course - the integration of the republics, the protection of Russians, the support of Russian language teachers, the development of industry - these are very important points. But we understand that you and I will not be able to do all this if they fire cannons every morning and create such conditions.
In “peaceful” times, we have already lost more people than during the fighting in 2014 - in Ilovaisk and so on. We have lost more people. Is this not a war? We are losing people, civilians, infrastructure. But we don’t lose hope,” he said.
Alexey Zhuravlev emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already drew “red lines” for Ukraine.
“Yesterday, when the President of the Russian Federation said: “Guys, let’s come here to Moscow and negotiate. And talk directly with the heads of Donetsk and Lugansk.” For me, I really hope this is the red line that has been drawn. If you don't do that, I'm sorry. There are no other options. We will have to force peace. Enough of children, civilians, and our soldiers dying here. We can’t tolerate this anymore,” the deputy added.
