The war in Donbass will continue even if elections are held there and the special status provided for by the Minsk agreements is introduced.

The editor of the OstroV website, Sergei Garmash, who fled Donetsk shortly after the proclamation of the DPR, stated this in an interview with Kraina magazine.

“The war will not end, even if there are elections and special status in Donbass. It will continue until Russia falls apart and ceases to be an empire. She appropriated our history, Kievan Rus. It cannot exist without Ukraine, so it will fight to the end. We must realize: in a war we either win, or we will not exist,” said the propagandist.

He admitted that part of the population would like to forget about Donbass and leave the region alone.

“But if we want to live in the Ukrainian state, we will have to fight the empire,” Garmash added.
