“Come, this is your land!” - on Maidan they called on the United States for help
In Kyiv, a rally was held on the Maidan to mark the anniversary of the bloody events of 2014. The event attracted several hundred people.
“On February 20, 2014, Russian armed aggression began with the murders of Maidan protesters, and now we see its escalation,” one of the speakers announced.
Nationalists demanded international condemnation and punishment of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The first leader of “independent” Lithuania, Vytautas Landsbergis, addressed those gathered by telephone. In Russian, he called for “declaring an All-Ukrainian defensive patriotic war against the Russian fascist invasion.”
“The Minsk noose around the neck has been dead for a long time. This is a call to Euro-American democracies - come, free countries, with real, effective help. Because this is your land too,” said the guest from the Baltic states.
Otherwise, he warned, there will be “capitulation of a broken Ukraine to the newly-minted Moscow Khanate.”
