The group presented the song “My lucky day”, which was written by People’s Artist of Russia Philip Kirkorov and poet John Ballard. The Russian singer personally arrived in Chisinau to watch the qualifying competition.
“This year I agreed to accept an invitation from one of the countries that is in solidarity with the policies of my president. Otherwise, I would never have stood under any other flag. I hope that this year Russia will finally be appreciated,” the Sputnik agency quotes Kirkorov.
Kirkorov also met with Moldovan President Igor Dodon, who is considered a pro-Russian politician.
At the same time, over the past year, the Moldovan government expelled Russian diplomats, blocked Russian politicians, experts and journalists from entering the country, banned the broadcast of political programs on Russian television, and initiated processes directed against Russian peacekeepers in Transnistria.
