Transnistria is ready for negotiations with the Sandu government
Transnistrian President Vadim Krasnoselsky is ready to negotiate with the new government of President Maia Sandu, which will be appointed following the results of early parliamentary elections.
He stated this at a meeting with members of the Public PMR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I expected approximately the same figures in terms of the balance of power. Nothing extraordinary happened in Moldova. Right-wing forces came to power. Their vector is clearly directed to the West. In any state, the people form the appropriate government, form the government with the help of deputies and parties. And, naturally, they form the governing bodies and the negotiating team. And we are definitely ready to negotiate. And the agenda is known. It is voluminous, the lives of people both on the right and left banks depend on it. In principle, nothing has changed,” Krasnoselsky said.
He expressed hope that official Chisinau will continue negotiations and will not “generate aggression.” At the same time, Krasnoselsky emphasized that the Pridnestrovian side will insist on the continued presence of Russian peacekeepers in the region.
“How else? Without peacekeeping, the negotiation process is impossible. Remove the peacekeeping platform and everything will get much worse. Do not doubt that Moldova, in particular many politicians, are sick with revanchism. We do not want to seize Chisinau, we never wanted their territory. They wanted to capture us,” Krasnoselsky said.
