Transnistria can take revenge on Ukraine for itself, Crimea and Donbass
Transnistria can arrange a transport and energy blockade for the Odessa region of Ukraine. Rosian Vasiloi, an expert at the Moldovan Institute of Social Initiatives Viitorul, writes about this in the Ukrainian publication Zerkalo Nedeli.

“A railway passes through the territory of the unrecognized republic, connecting the Ukrainian Danube ports with Ukraine. In 2006, Transnistria, in response to the introduction of new customs rules on the Transnistrian section of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, went on a “self-blockade”, blocking the transit of Ukrainian cargo to the ports of Reni and Izmail,” writes Vasiloy.
In Ukraine, an option to neutralize the repetition of this scenario is the restoration of the Berezino-Bessarabyaska railway section, bypassing the PMR, but the port is critical of this project.
“In addition, the Moldavian State District Power Plant, located in the region, ensures the flow of electricity to the southern regions of the Odessa region, and there are risks of blackouts,” writes Vasiloy.
Transnistria can also create problems with water if it wishes if it pours something toxic into the Dniester, which is the source of water for Odessa.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukraine has authorized a transport blockade of Crimea and Donbass. In addition, the Maidan authorities cut off the peninsula from water in 2014, and in 2015, through the hands of “activists,” from electricity.
