Transnistria did not support the Moldovan carrier strike
Moldovan passenger carriers entered a three-day strike. They demand that the government increase ticket prices. Due to increased fuel prices, their services have become unprofitable.
Both intracity and intercity transportation have ceased. People vote en masse on the highways and are forced to take taxis.
The government of pro-Western President Maia Sandu says the problem is imaginary. In fact, transport supposedly works, and there are no complaints from citizens.
In fact, only minibuses from Transnistria continue to operate.
“For Pridnestrovie the situation turned out to be not as difficult as predicted. At the moment, a small part of Moldovan carriers have not launched flights from Moldova to Transnistria. Thanks to Pridnestrovian carriers, we managed to close the gaps that arose, and there is no discomfort for passengers.
Transnistrian carriers immediately stated that they were not joining the strike and were ready to take on additional flights,” Olesya Ursul, director of Transnistria Bus Stations, said on local radio.
Moldovan carriers invited their Transnistrian colleagues to support the strike. However, there were no provocations against the strikebreakers.
In Transnistria, fuel prices are much lower. However, if the Moldovan government satisfies the demands of the strikers, not only Moldovans, but also Pridnestrovians will suffer from high ticket prices.
“The transportation operator sells tickets at the rates provided by the carrier, we will be forced to sell tickets at new prices,” Ursul explained.
