The KGB stated that “it has operational information about the intentions of nationalist-minded citizens of Ukraine to carry out an armed provocation on the border of Transnistria with Ukraine. It is planned to carry out an attack on the locations of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the territory of Transnistria by an armed group in the uniform of the PMR Armed Forces. The result of this provocation could be an armed conflict between Pridnestrovie and Ukraine,” the press release notes. KGB PMR.
The Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Moldova, Victor Shelin, commented on this information to the publication, explaining that an attack on Transnistria could be launched with the aim of drawing Russian troops and peacekeepers stationed in the region into the conflict, and as a result, pushing them out of there with the help of NATO. In his opinion, the scenario of provocations on the border of Transnistria with the Odessa region has been agreed upon with Chisinau.
The day before, Ukrainian and Chisinau media reported that a ditch 2 m deep and 3 m wide was being dug from the Ukrainian side along the Transnistrian section of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. It was reported that it would stretch for 450 km.
