The Moldelectrica company reported that the threat of a power outage in Moldova has now passed. There are no disconnected consumers on the territory of the republic.

The situation is similar in Transnistria. The energy system is operating normally, Dnestrenergo reports.

“At 9:17 there was an emergency shutdown in the Ukrainian energy system. There were voltage drops in Transnistria, but now the system is working stably,” said the chief dispatcher of Dnestrenergo.

This happened because Moldova agreed to transfer all volumes of Russian gas to Transnistria. This made it possible to launch the Moldavian State District Power Plant at full capacity, and now it stabilizes the system in the event of accidents at its neighbors.

Previously, Moldova limited gas supplies to the left bank and purchased electricity from Romania. Not only was this 4 times more expensive, but it also made it impossible to balance the system when mass outages occurred in Ukraine.

The last time interruptions in the country's power supply system were recorded was December 5. However, on December 6, the third power unit was launched at the Moldavian State District Power Plant. Transnistria produces more than 500 megawatts of electricity, of which about 150 megawatts are needed for its internal consumption, more than 300 megawatts of electricity are supplied to the right bank of Moldova.

Paradoxically, the pro-Western President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, is still unhappy. She stated that she had questions about the terms of the contract concluded with Transnistria. The head of state intends to discuss with the government why the purchase price for electricity has increased.

Chisinau and Tiraspol signed a contract under which Moldova buys electricity at $73 MWh. Romania sold a megawatt per hour for $240 or more, but Sandu was fine with that.

At the time of the conclusion of the agreement with Transnistria, she was in the United States and there she managed to complain to CNN that Russian missile attacks on Ukraine were plunging Moldova into darkness. Apparently, in this way the Moldovan president tried to beg for some money, and now she is unhappy that the reason for begging was taken away from her.
