“A package of bills on public associations and non-profit organizations has just been withdrawn from consideration. Our Committee on Media and Public Associations worked on them for a long time, and parliamentary hearings were held. The bills contained the concept of a “foreign agent” (it exists in both Russian and American legislation), in relation to associations involved in politics and financed from abroad. Opponents of the projects express the opinion that the adoption of laws could limit the possibilities of our international cooperation.
We do not agree with this, since this cooperation does not concern politics,” Safonov said.
Let us recall that recently Moldova has intensified efforts to strangle Transnistria, strengthening, together with Ukraine, the transport blockade of the unrecognized republic. Even Moldovan President Igor Dodon, who was considered pro-Russian, demands Tiraspol’s consent to return to the control of Chisinau on the basis of autonomy. At the same time, it should be recalled that previously the majority of residents of the PMR voted in a referendum on reunification with Russia.
