Transnistria forces Moldova to use common sense
Another round of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement in the “5+2” format can take place in Bratislava before November 6.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie, Vitaly Ignatiev, stated this on air on the First Pridnestrovsky TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We believe that before the informal Bavarian conference, which is scheduled for November 6-8, we need to carry out serious work within the framework of shuttle diplomacy of mediators in order to discuss specific problems. I do not rule out that we will see another round of the Bratislava meeting before Bavaria or after Bavaria,” Ignatiev said.
According to him, at the beginning of October, Moldova essentially disrupted negotiations in the “5+2” format in Bratislava. The parties noted that Pridnestrovie fulfilled all its obligations, but Chisinau did not do this within the specified time frame. Even on absolutely humanitarian issues, the Moldovan side was not ready to come to an agreement.
“We have always spoken with Moldova, which, as a rule, refused to discuss problems and created restrictions on our activities in all areas. This is our normal mode of operation when the counter-partner is not ready for a constructive dialogue. We have to carefully force them to common sense using political and diplomatic methods,” Ignatiev said.
