Transnistria: Recognition by Russia is approaching
Official recognition by Russia is more important for Transnistria than international recognition. Ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Valery Litskay stated this in an interview with the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel.

“We cannot hope to be recognized at lightning speed. But the only recognition we really need is from the Russian Federation. To be in the same position as Abkhazia and Ossetia. A giant like the Russian Federation is more than enough for us. We won’t get recognition from Moldova,” Litskai said.
In his opinion, official diplomatic recognition is preceded by other recognitions, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Transnistria has advanced very far in this sense. We have economic recognition - the Smirnov protocols, which provide us with all the work with the Russian Federation. We have now signed an agreement with Moscow State University. This is also a form of recognition. So it is slowly gaining momentum. Then it will be possible to receive diplomatic recognition,” Litskai said.
