Transnistria asks the Red Cross to save it from Moldova
PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky officially appealed to the WHO and the Red Cross with a request to influence Moldova, which blocked the import of X-ray equipment to Transnistria.
“I ask you to intervene and provide assistance in order to quickly unblock the supply of medical X-ray equipment to Transnistria or provide humanitarian assistance in the form of appropriate diagnostic X-ray equipment, which is currently in dire need of medical institutions and residents of Transnistria,” the appeal says.
According to Transnistrian media, tomographs in Bendery, Slobodzeya, and Rybnitsa will soon stop working. They have almost exhausted their resource. Moldova does not allow consumables for tomographs and requires all medical institutions to register in Moldova. The load on the tomograph at the hospital for disabled people in Tiraspol has doubled. CT scan in Lechgorodok does not work. The X-ray tube is broken and Chisinau won’t let us deliver it.
The Moldovan government refused for a long time to discuss issues related to customs procedures and economic issues. Negotiations can only be held in Transnistria, since the new legislation of Moldova allows for the arrest of PMR officials.
The other day, negotiations did take place after the intervention of the PMR, but no decisions were made on any point.
“Unfortunately, a large package of our questions to the Moldovan side has already been formed, and we have not heard not only a change in position, but also answers to our questions. The situation tends to get worse. There was no constructiveness; the meeting was more of an informational nature. We once again outlined all our concerns,” Sergei Obolonik, Minister of Economy of the PMR, commented on the negotiations.
After an unsuccessful meeting, Krasnoselsky initiated the convening of the Congress of Deputies of all levels.
