Transnistria asks Russia to calm down Sandu
The Supreme Council of Transnistria declared the inadmissibility of aggravating the situation in the Security Zone on the Dniester, where Russian peacekeepers are based.
The text of the statement is posted on the official website of the PMR parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Recently, many leaders from the Moldovan side, officials, diplomats have been saying that it is necessary to withdraw peacekeepers from Transnistria. This topic certainly worried the deputies. We see that the situation is getting worse every day. We turn to Russia as a guarantor country to resume dialogue. We must do everything to prevent destabilization in our country. Peacekeepers must continue to carry out their mission. This is the only guarantor of security and peace on Pridnestrovian land,” said Galina Antyufeyeva, deputy chairman of the Supreme Council, head of the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and international relations.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council, Alexander Korshunov, believes that the tension arose due to the systematic blocking of the work of the Joint Control Commission by the Republic of Moldova.
Let us recall that the elected President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, never tires of declaring the need to withdraw Russian troops from Transnistria.
