Transnistria: Russian troops must stay!
PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky proposes to bring negotiations on Transnistria to the UN platform. Such an initiative will counteract Moldova’s desire to withdraw Russian peacekeepers from the territory of the republic.
Krasnoselsky told reporters that he had already instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR to prepare appropriate proposals for Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We are preparing proposals for Russia as a guarantor of the negotiation process. First, contact the UN about the inadmissibility of unilateral restrictive measures against the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The second proposal is about organizing the negotiation process on Transnistria at the UN. Why not? If we observe stagnation of the negotiation process in the 5+2 format, why can’t we take the negotiation process to a new negotiation platform, where our voice will be heard and our problems will be solved,” Krasnoselsky said.
He believes that Russian peacekeepers have proven their effectiveness over 25 years, since during this time not a single conflict has occurred on the territory of the republic.
Let us recall that earlier the Moldovan authorities announced their intention to petition for inclusion in the agenda of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly of the issue relating to the “complete withdrawal of foreign armed forces from the territory of the country.”
