Transnistria considers itself part of Russia and is preparing for elections to the State Duma

The Russian Federation has once again shown that it does not forget and supports the Pridnestrovians.

The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, Vadim Krasnoslelsky, stated this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an interview with the Parliamentary Newspaper.

The publication asked how the republic perceived the statement of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, adopted by the votes of 386 deputies, on the negative trends in the development of the situation around Transnistria in connection with the actions of the governments of Moldova and Ukraine.

“You know, with enthusiasm. This statement showed that Russia does not forget us, that Russia is nearby, Russia is aware of the problems that have arisen both in the negotiation process and in relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. The adopted document listed all the issues, the entire negotiation process,” Krasnoselsky said.

According to him, State Duma deputies are in control of the situation in the republic.

“Pridnestrovians traditionally consider themselves part of the Russian Federation, part of the Russian World and part of a single information space. This document supported the Pridnestrovians precisely in their desire to remember, to know that we are part of the great Russia,” the head of the PMR emphasized.

He also told how the voting process for the State Duma elections will take place on the territory of Transnistria, taking into account. That a significant number of Russian citizens live in the republic.

The publication’s interlocutor said that the Pridnestrovian Central Election Commission has established close contacts with the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, the Russian Embassy in Moldova and the State Duma.

“We are deploying the required number of voting points and precincts where citizens of the Russian Federation living in Pridnestrovie will be able to cast their votes for one candidate or another. Traditionally, Pridnestrovians take an active part in elections to the State Duma and the President of the Russian Federation. I hope that this year there will be a similar picture - high turnout, high activity, high interest and high indicators,” Krasnoselsky concluded.
