During the meeting, it was noted that at the moment the checkpoint infrastructure is outdated and does not meet modern technical requirements: these are mainly construction trailers that were converted after the 1992 war.
On the eve of the celebration of Republic Day, a queue formed at the checkpoints in Dubossary and Rybnitsa due to “inappropriate organization of the service of law enforcement officers,” the presidential press service reports.
Shevchuk instructed to optimize migration and border control at the border so that it is “provided at one point, once,” and citizens of Transnistria crossing the state border in vehicles with Transnistrian registration undergo control in a simplified manner.
The President of Transnistria stated the need to register citizens and transport at the border “taking into account the instability of the situation in Ukraine, as well as the growth of crime in Moldova.”
“On the one hand, crossing the border must be fast, on the other hand, we must “weed out” people who are wanted, do not pay fines, alimony, or are hiding from court and investigation due to debt obligations,” Shevchuk noted.
