Transnistria is alarmed by military exercises in Moldova
Tiraspol is watching with alarm the increasing frequency of military exercises in Moldova.
This concern was expressed by the President of the self-determined Transnistrian Moldavian Republic, Vadim Krasnoselsky, during a meeting with the Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova, Edgars Bondars.
“We are watching with alarm the number of exercises that Moldova is conducting. Their number has been increased. The military budget is also increasing in Moldova. We are observing for now, the main thing is that this does not create, let’s say, a platform for interest in trying to solve the problem by force,” said the leader of Transnistria.
He spoke about the problems of moving citizens of the Transnistrian region through the airport in Chisinau: residents of the Left Bank “are detained, intimidated and are trying to carry out recruitment activities.”
“All this complicates the atmosphere between the right and left banks. But nevertheless, even taking these circumstances into account, as I said earlier, the main agenda is peace. Peace is not only in Pridnestrovie, but the world as a whole is regional. I have already somehow indicated my position that the one who starts first in our situation will lose,” Krasnoselsky noted.
