President of Transnistria Yevgeny Shevchuk instructed the government to organize the issuance of Russian pension supplements in the near future, the press service of the head of the republic reported today.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues in the Russian Federation for remembering the Pridnestrovians who are in difficult conditions. Thank you for the fact that the project continues and the funds are flowing in. This is good news,” he said.

As already reported, at the end of June, the Transnistrian authorities announced that pensioners would temporarily not receive a monthly supplement from Russian humanitarian aid funds, since money from the Russian Federation for these purposes had not been received “due to the complicated political situation, the large influx of refugees to the Russian Federation and other social projects."

The Russian 15-dollar surcharge (165 Transnistrian rubles) is paid to pensioners of the republic, regardless of their citizenship. The Russian humanitarian project in the PMR has been carried out since 2008.
