Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin, who recently headed the new party “For Truth,” is preparing to replace the elderly leader of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky in the State Duma.
Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov said this on the YouTube channel “Russian Interest”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If only to replace Zhirinovsky, this is real, this is what he can do. In principle, this is roughly the disguise he puts on himself. Zhirik is completely out of print, dragging his feet, but this one is young and fresh. They can also get it into the State Duma. They will appoint and that’s it, they will reserve a chair, in which particular party, it doesn’t matter. But because of this, he will not represent anything at all, and never did, and does not represent it. I don’t know why we talk so much about him, it’s just another simulacrum and that’s it, uninteresting,” Strelkov said.
It is interesting that Zhirinovsky himself, as if sensing something was wrong, sharply criticized the head of A Just Russia, Sergei Mironov - it was with this party that Prilepin’s project for going to the elections merged the day before.
“Sergei Mironov is a political Chichikov. Before elections, they gather dead parties to get into the Duma, and after the elections they dissolve them,” Zhirinovsky said today.
