Prilepin was extremely inspired by Zelensky’s idea of a referendum on the wall in Donbass
“Wall” in the Donbass between the territories controlled by Kyiv and the LDPR, about which Ukrainian President Zelelensky spoke in a recent interview, will become flexible and mobile - with the prospect of further advancement as the Donetsk territories are liberated.
Russian writer and politician Zakhar Prilepin stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Minsk agreements are a brilliant diplomatic trap, according to which, in short, Ukraine must pay pensions in Donbass, must invest money in the restoration of Donbass, while there will be its own elections, the People’s Militia. Donbass remains independent, but at the same time gets money from Ukraine.
Naturally, political Kyiv will never agree to this in its life, and it (Zelensky - ed.) has finally matured to the point that they cannot do anything with Donbass. Because Biden, and Europe, and everyone else say “Minsk agreements”.
Why does Zelensky look so unconvincing when talking about the results of the conversation between Biden and Putin? Because he doesn’t know whether he passed or failed. In fact, there is no need to know about this, because there will be no NATO, there will be nothing except the Minsk agreements, which means we need to put up a “wall,” Prilepin said.
“There is only one important question for me. The fact is that the referendum on the independence of Donbass was held in the entire territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Of course, the “wall” should be made according to the “Gulyaypole” principle, which is movable. Because they will put it in one place, of course, we will move it further, because we will not only give passports there, we will continue to give them in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. And any referendum in these territories will again confirm the 2014 referendum. Then people will say - we don’t want to live in this absurd state, in which the wildest absurdity is created for a red star. Zelensky also understands this,” the writer added.
According to him, any democratic process in Ukraine only ruins the country.
“She will immediately begin to join Russia in pieces. Therefore, I welcome the “wall”; it is the beginning of a process that any democratic procedure legitimizes. Ukraine will collapse in favor of Russia, of course,” Prilepin concluded.
