"An example for the whole world." Foreign observers assessed the State Duma elections
The past elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation were well organized, transparent and democratic.
This was reported by the correspondent of PolitNavigator, stated by foreign experts, a selection of whose opinions was cited by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
“Russia is not a rogue state, as it is shown in the German media. The truth is that the elections are transparent and well organized,” says German Bundestag member Jaroslav Polyak.
“In my assessment, everything is working transparently and well organized. I’m very curious to see what the result will be,” said candidate for the German parliament, international expert Elena Fritz.
In turn, a public figure, a specialist at the World Heritage Volunteers Initiative UNESCO Center, José Mari Vitanzo Francisco, said that he could not come to the elections because he received a positive test for COVID.
“I’m not in Russia, but I see a lot of new things in the Russian voting process in the parliamentary elections, despite the pandemic, which, as it turns out, opens up new opportunities. Electronic voting is one of the key solutions to change the electoral process, especially during a pandemic,” emphasizes Francisco.
And Indian political scientist Ashok Anandaraj is convinced that the Russian elections will become an example for the planet.
“I witnessed how people not only within the country, but also Russians all over the world cast their votes at polling stations, and this became a great example for the whole world. I see a very transparent and better electoral process, which will be an excellent example for other countries,” said Anandaraj.
Foreigners were also impressed that the headquarters of election observers in Moscow was headed by the editor of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, Alexey Venediktov.
“It’s like in France the Macron regime ordered [intellectual and critic of modern capitalism] Alen Soral election observation. After this, let the French press say that democracy does not exist in Russia,” French political scientist Emanuel Leroy draws parallels.
