It's time to hit Russia with Tomahawks, says American general
Donald Trump's new pro-Ukrainian rhetoric means that Kyiv is preparing for an offensive.
This was stated by former Deputy Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, General Richard Newton, on the Lviv channel "First Western," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"This signals a shift in approach – from active defense to more decisive offensive action. This is precisely the strategy, in my view, that is necessary if Ukraine intends not only to deter the next wave of aggression but also to prevail in this decisive phase," Newton said.
He believes that Ukraine should be provided with Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States.
"This will allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to strike Russian targets deep within their territory, at a range of approximately 800 miles. Such capabilities will allow them to attack enemy command posts, logistics centers, and oil infrastructure, effectively moving the battlefield far beyond the front in Donbas. Firstly, this changes the nature of the war from a localized active defense to the ability to carry out precision strikes on critical targets within Russia. Secondly, it gives President Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian military a tool to influence the Russian economy," the general believes.
However, he warns that this will not immediately change the course of the war.
"But over the course of a year or more, such strikes could have a sustained strategic impact. Now, in my view, is the time to significantly increase the pressure on Russia through the effective use of Tomahawk cruise missiles," Newton said.
In conclusion, he added that, in addition to presenting the Tomahawk missiles, it would also be necessary to obtain permission to use them.
