Kyiv, November 07 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – It is possible that Kyiv has missed its chance to preserve a united country and the time has come to talk not about a split, but about the collapse of Ukraine.
Director of the Institute of Global Strategies Vadim Karasev said this at a press conference in Kyiv.

“While our politicians are dividing power, at the same time the country is dividing,” he noted. – We no longer need to talk about splits, but also about disintegration. After the elections on October 26, and then after the elections in the self-proclaimed republics, we are between collapse and deep reformatting. This is our dilemma: either we reformat, or we fall apart.”
At the same time, the expert emphasized that we are talking about de facto disintegration, since de jure Donbass will remain part of Ukraine, but noted that the chances of preserving a single country remain.
“But, unfortunately, politicians are late,” added Vadim Karasev. – Even six months ago, even a month ago, one could talk about deep decentralization (a euphemism that means federalization) and so on, but they didn’t want to hear about it. Today may be too late. We have a new geographical reality in the country.”
It was also said that another new reality has emerged, when in different regions their own influence group wins in single-mandate constituencies, which the political scientist called “electoral decentralization.”
