Ukraine remains a potentially dangerous state that could provoke NATO and Russia into a major conflict. Political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
As an example of a potential danger, he cited a recent interview with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexander Turchynov, in which he stated the need to return the country’s nuclear potential.
“This is not just adventurism. This is a threat on a regional and even global scale. These people are not joking. You can say as much as you like that they can’t do it, they don’t have enough intelligence and in general they are clowns. They are clowns, but dangerous ones. The more they feel unpunished, the more dangerous they become,” Mikheev said.
He believes that Russia will no longer be able to avoid solving the problem of the Ukrainian regime, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think we will have to resolve this issue somehow. We did not make serious efforts to demolish this regime, although I consider this a mistake. But if things go on like this (the law on mandatory integration into NATO), this will become an extremely dangerous situation, and we will have to make efforts,” Mikheev said.
