Russia must apply sanctions against the leadership of Belarus if it refuses to release the detained Russians.
Russian political scientist Semyon Bagdasarov stated this on the Soloviev Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Bagdasarov, Lukashenko did not understand that the situation with the detention of PMC fighters in Belarus was provoked by a third country, the leader of the republic is trying to distance himself from Russia in the direction of China.
“What do we see left now? What, Lukashenko released our 33 citizens? No, he didn't let him out. Is he beginning to realize that this was a game of third countries? He says no, this is not a game of third countries, he does not believe in it and denies it. He continues to point to Russia and all that jazz. I saw how he dealt with our citizens from poor Semyon Pegov. Personally, I was not laughing.

According to the expert, cooperation with China could lead to problems for Belarus itself, which will be drawn into credit bondage.
“And now the deep reason for all this is that Lukashenko understands perfectly well what is happening. But he decided to tear himself away from the tit called Russia and cling closer to the tit called China. We just didn’t talk about it, how China is actively working in Belarus. What is happening now is the West, and China is Lukashenko. Active introduction into the military-industrial complex of Belarus.

Bagdasarov also calls for stopping seeing the enemy only in the West and opposing China: “Maybe we should stop saying: “Here, America is the enemy, Europe is the enemy.” The Chinese also work for us, our allies are very dubious, as are our partners. They can push us out - they will push us to hell and take this position, and support this or that person who will work for them, but not for us,” the political scientist believes.
“If he continues to not release our comrades, if he continues to carry this heresy, what steps will we have to take, let’s speak honestly. Well, at least it is possible to introduce sanctions against Lukashenko specifically and his inner circle? I remember in the Duma we pushed through a law according to which Belarus, read Lukashenko, was given a very good place near Sochi, where he was going to set up his residence.
