Prystaiko: “The British will fly in within 4 hours to help Ukraine repel aggression”
The UK, by recalling the families of its diplomats from Ukraine, shows how seriously it takes the military threat from the Russian Federation. At the same time, Germany calls not to panic, but still recalls its citizens.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Great Britain Vadim Prystaiko stated this in an interview with the BBC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainians are obviously getting a signal that danger is approaching because the British are withdrawing their personnel... Some nations, for example, we spoke yesterday with the Australians, who also made this decision, although they only have two diplomats in Ukraine, but an explanation The fact that they are recalling family members while people continue to work shows that these countries are taking the threat seriously.
I am more worried about the German position, when on the one hand they say that there is no threat and there is no need to help Ukraine, but they also quietly recall diplomats.
Britain, at a minimum, honestly says that we are ready to send help to Ukraine, moreover, regardless of the risk, our minister is coming to you because she believes that at this critical moment she should be there, she is not afraid to go there, where military action is possible.
But those countries that call on us not to do anything, and that nothing will happen, and take away their people, that is, they worry about their people, this is a real problem,” the ambassador reasoned.
At the same time, he relied entirely on the help of the British contingent in the event of a real “Russian invasion.”
“I want to give you an example from last year - the landing of British troops for exercises in Ukraine. The British flew from Great Britain on their planes, without landing anywhere, without asking again, to Ukraine, and landed in Ukraine.
Showing that if this country’s decision is made to help Ukraine, they will be next to their Ukrainian friends in 4 hours from landing to disembarking in Ukraine. This is how Britain can act,” Prystaiko admired.
