Prystaiko told Europeans about unacceptable federalization
The federalization scenario for Ukraine is unacceptable, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadim Prystaiko on October 14, speaking at a meeting of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports.
Thus, it is reported that Prystaiko outlined in detail the position and red lines of the Ukrainian side in the context of resolving the conflict in Donbass.
“Ukraine is and will remain a unitary state; the federalization scenario is unacceptable. Establishing the necessary security conditions is a prerequisite for holding local elections in Donbass: Russian military forces, mercenaries and weapons must be withdrawn from the territory of Ukraine. In addition, we must restore full control over the temporarily uncontrolled section of the Russian-Ukrainian border,” says Prystaiko.
According to the press service, the key topic of the meeting was the security situation in eastern Ukraine, “ways to overcome Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine,” as well as “the efforts of the Ukrainian side to implement the Minsk agreements.”
The day before, Prystaiko said that Ukraine would not negotiate endlessly on the issue of resolving the conflict in Donbass.
