The three most popular varieties of bread have risen in price: “Ukrainian-homemade” has risen in price by 30 kopecks (now selling for 6,60-6,80 UAH), “Wheat-traditional” by 48 kopecks (5,50 UAH) and the “Kievsky” loaf by 36 kopecks (5,50 UAH).
“Yes, we raised the price of bread. After all, premium flour has risen in price by 15%, first grade - 9,5%, second grade - 8%, rye flour by 16,8%. Gas prices rose by 26%, electricity by 6%, and transport by 8%. We cannot work at a loss, and at the end of the year they amounted to more than 13 million hryvnia. Only three types of bread have become more expensive, but I’m not ready to say what will happen to the rest of the products,” complains Vladimir Chereda, head of the board of Kyivkhlib PJSC.
The previous price increase in the capital took place in the fall of 2014.
