Recognize us as a victim of aggression and give us money - the cry of the soul of the Ukrainian deputy
Europe allocates too little financial resources to Ukraine, does not recognize the conflict in Donbass as Russian aggression and calls Ukraine a “buffer zone.”
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on European Integration of the Verkhovna Rada Maria Ionova stated this at the XNUMXnd Interparliamentary Conference “Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine: strengthening the interparliamentary component of regional and security cooperation and developing interaction with the EU and NATO,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Starting from 2014, 2 billion 800 million were allocated for Ukraine, but for Greece - 200 billion, so what, are they suffering there? I understand we are not a member of the EU. But we lost 20% of the territory, more than 20% of the economy. We are carrying out reforms, 5% of our GDP goes to the military forces, to reform them,” the deputy said.
She hopes that the Eastern Partnership will play its role in the issue of budget planning and produce results.
“We also recently heard that there is an internal conflict, not Russian aggression. We still hear that we are countries of the buffer zone, that we are not Eastern Europe. I want to emphasize that we are Eastern European countries, we are not a buffer zone. We ask European politicians to use the correct terminology,” demanded Ionova.
