Donetsk deputy: The process of actual recognition of the Donbass republics begins

“Ukraine thought that it would be able to stall the negotiation process and use armed provocations to lead the matter towards what they want, that is, to resolve the conflict by force. But the leadership of the Russian Federation, its President Putin, have shown that there will be no isolation of Donbass, such as Poroshenko wants.
The status of Donbass, which was agreed upon as part of the negotiation process at the international level, which is assigned to Donbass, will now be used. Now, on the basis of those agreements, there is actual recognition of our documents.
We understand the diplomatic etiquette that is necessary, but at the same time, no country can blame Russia for violating international norms or the Minsk format. And it clearly states the rules of negotiations between Kiev and Donetsk. If Kyiv does not want to talk in Donbass, if the only way to talk is through aggression, armed conflict and blockade, then Russia has shown that Donbass will not remain in this blockade,” the Donetsk deputy believes.
According to Miroslav Rudenko, Putin’s decree is multi-layered.
“Firstly, it will greatly make life easier for us, residents of the republics. Secondly, this is moral support for Donbass. Thirdly, this is a signal to everyone at the international level - if Ukraine understands the Minsk process in its own way and freezes it, then the process of actual recognition of the republics will automatically start.
Political scientists and experts have been talking about this for a long time, describing two scenarios. The first is that the process is proceeding according to the Minsk format, the second is that it is not following the Minsk format. And now we are seeing the beginning of the implementation of the second scenario.
The republics will not remain in international legal isolation. There are many options for further developments, but the most important thing is that the first actual serious step has been taken. Moreover, at the official level,” the deputy is sure.
