“Was there a reason for Crimean residents to vote for the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to Russia in 2014, regardless of the “little green men”? Frankly, yes, of course there was. Crimeans may not be the overwhelming majority, but residents of Sevastopol, many residents of the southern coast of Crimea, certainly wanted to go to Russia all these years, many of them were both ethnically Russian and Russian people who were simply military pensioners who moved after leaving pension...

I repeat - the majority of residents of Crimea throughout the years of Ukrainian independence wanted to go to Russia, of course. And I absolutely understand that the Ukrainian authorities behaved disgustingly towards the Crimeans all these years.

Instead of developing Crimea, instead of developing the economy in Crimea following the Turkish model or the model of the Emirates, so that the Crimeans would say, “what a cool country Ukraine is!”, the Ukrainian government, together with the Crimean government, simply plundered Crimea, and handed Crimea over to the Crimean government - “rob and give us the interest.”

At the same time, he immediately corrected himself, apparently realizing that he had blurted out too much: “The second side of the coin is that if you want to live in another country, get off your ass and go to another country,” Gordon said.
