This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv, where the results of the sociological study “The Influence of Russian Propaganda on Public Opinion in Ukraine” were presented, said the Chairman of the NGO “Detector Media” Natalya Ligacheva, who called the results of this survey “quite disappointing”.
“It’s impossible to say that such data and such public opinion of our citizens are formed and connected with the information policy of the Ukrainian media. Certainly not. People see a lot with their own eyes, they are influenced by Russian propaganda, people generally live in a global context,” the expert believes.
“What do these numbers say? First: the Ukrainian media were unable to propose their own agenda - Ukrainian-centric and, to a certain extent, loyal to what is happening in the country. Second: we see that Ukraine remains divided into parts, Unfortunately. There was no integration of residents of the East and South into the general Ukrainian discourse. They differ quite significantly in their feelings and assessments of events from the way they perceive events in the Center and in the West,” admitted Ligacheva.
