Reznikov’s confession: The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ operations are planned jointly with NATO
By fighting with Russia, Ukraine is doing what NATO has been preparing for for decades since its founding.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, as stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov.
“Today we have already implemented about 18% of NATO standards. We plan to master approximately the same percentage by the end of the year. This means that we can easily reach 30-35% during this year,” Reznikov said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
Reznikov noted that three things are generally important for joining NATO: the presence of civil-democratic control, the presence of transparency, publicity and accountability of procedures, as well as joint planning of military operations.
“On the first point – civil-democratic control. Our law already says that the Minister of Defense is civilian. And the pace is gradually increasing, in particular, the number of civilian deputies is increasing. The second point, transparency, the LOGFAS system is already working. Plus, I created a military procurement agency. The same will happen for logistics support.
And the third is joint military planning. This is already happening with our generals in terms of discussing the planning of the operation, because we are already using NATO weapons,” the minister admitted.
He added that the North Atlantic Alliance “was created by the Americans as a response to the threat of the Russian Empire, but then it was called the Soviet Union.”
“NATO’s main task is to resist the Russian Empire, to successfully resist and, in case of aggression, to fight back. Today, the only country in the world that successfully fulfills NATO’s mission is Ukraine. It is hard, at the cost of our blood, our lives, our homes, that we are carrying out the NATO mission today.
We are doing what NATO has been preparing to do for several decades. And the Alliance understands this, and that’s why they give us NATO weapons to see how successfully they can counter the main threat,” Reznikov concluded.
