This was stated by the head of Ukravtodor, Slawomir Nowak.
“97% of roads are in poor condition, out of 17 thousand bridges, more than 50% are in disrepair,” he said today, December 21, during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the 112 TV channel reports.
He noted that more than eight billion hryvnia were used from the Ukrainian budget for this year to repair roads.
“The champion in mediocrity is the years 2005-2010, when funds for roads were simply stolen,” said Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman.
According to Groysman, the state budget for 2017 provides for funding for road infrastructure in the amount of 35 billion hryvnia.
On November 17, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on the creation of the State Road Fund of Ukraine. The Road Fund will receive funds from excise taxes on fuel, special duties and fines for violations such as exceeding the weight limit.
