Sevastopol, September 13 (PolitNavigator, Andrey Romanov) - In recent weeks, passions have been seething in Sevastopol - a disrupted meeting on the occasion of 6 months since the return of the city to Russia, there was talk of attempts to rewrite the recent history of the “Russian Spring” and level out the role of Alexei Mikhailovich Chaly. I’ll tell you what I know – as a person who was at the epicenter of events in the ranks of “self-defense”.

Until February 23, 2014, Chaly was a well-known philanthropist, he invested millions of dollars in the creation of a memorial complex to the 35th coastal battery, provided financial support to many pro-Russian, pro-Russian projects, created his own television channel, NTS, for a lot of money, which was and is pro-Russian oriented , supported popular Internet resources, which, however, have recently become the mouthpiece of the new government.
Even before the historical events of February 23, when a group of patriots, among whom were: Boris Kolesnikov, Vladimir Tyunin, Igor Solovyov, Gennady Basov, Olga Timofeeva, Tatyana Ermakova, Raisa Telyatnikova and many others, made a decision to organize resistance to the advancing Kyiv junta, and A neutral, untainted, authoritative candidate with significant financial resources has also been proposed. This person was Alexey Chaly, especially since he could influence the media.
And so, February 23, 2014 came, when at a meeting of the people’s will Chaly was elected people’s mayor. Other candidates were not nominated by mutual agreement of the parties. At the same time, Alexey Mikhailovich did not risk anything, unlike the others, because he, as a citizen of the Russian Federation, would simply have been deported, but public activists, as citizens of Ukraine, would have been put behind bars.
After his election as people's mayor, a question arose before the city council, deputies from the party in power did not want to recognize him as leader, citing the fact that he had Russian citizenship. However, deputies Dmitry Belik, Evgeniy Dubovik, Gennady Basov managed to turn the situation around, collecting 26 signatures for holding an extraordinary session, and with the help of Sevastopol self-defense units, the Russian Bloc, the Cossack community “Sobol” and others, who blocked all the paths, passages and exits from the City Council, then they were still able to carry out the decision Sevastopol needed.
After that, Alexey Mikhailovich moved to the Sevastopol administration building. But then Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and his team intervened in the process. It was Putin’s team, although its representatives will remain nameless, that organized, fully controlled and coordinated all processes in the city. The entire city machine acted only on their strict recommendations. And only their decisions were voiced by Chaly, Doinikov and others.
At the same time, having taken the chair of the chairman of the coordination council, Chaly began to get rid of his former associates who had political weight. The first of steel: Roslyakov, Tyunin, Litvinov, Shulin.
At the same time, Alexey Mikhailovich obviously realized that he would not be able to work well with the current composition of the City Council, and therefore suggested that Vladimir Putin hold elections and elect a new composition of the Legislative Assembly, moreover, in a very narrow composition and with an emphasis on political parties, because it is easier to control the deputies .
By the way, he himself decided not to take responsibility during the difficult transition period - this is a difficult task, proposing another candidate for the post of leader of Sevastopol.
So, the logic of action then was as follows: the elections would take place on September 14, and taking into account Alexei Mikhailovich’s control over United Russia, he proposed for approval and “pushed” (with the help of Belik and Chernikov licking his sirloin) the Charter of the city of Sevastopol without discussions, which initially included the complete opacity of the actions of the authorities, the lack of their responsibility, the absence of direct election of the head of the city by Sevastopol residents.
For many years, the citizens of the hero city fought for the head of the city to be elected by everyone by direct secret ballot. Chaly made sure that our head was again elected by deputies, in addition, he proposed one clause of the Charter, already directly for himself, namely, that in our city there should be not only a governor responsible for everything, but also a chairman of the government, for whom You can always blame all negative phenomena on the practical activities of the authorities. Thank God, the prosecutor’s office found this clause of the Charter to be corrupt, and it was cancelled.
Let’s leave the clauses of the Constitution of our city, which have placed a burden on the shoulders of Sevastopol residents, and move on to the moral component, namely: what does “Chaly’s team” represent now? Among them there are no officials and former “regionals” who fawned over him, he simply “dumped” them and, frankly, we don’t care about them. But his team does not include those people who fought for 20 years for the Russian status of Sevastopol. He also “dumped” them as soon as he became the boss, saying: “thank you, I don’t need your services anymore,” and these are: Telyatnikova, Ermakova, Basov, Mareta, Tyunin and many others. Chaly openly calls them traitors (you saw this in the video message), meaning Kolesnikov and Oganesyan for expressing their opinions. He says from the TV screen that he probably should apologize to the people of Sevastopol for the current city government. A decent person should apologize for his actions without the word “probably”, if only so that there would be some kind of sincerity in this. The bad thing is that Alexey Mikhailovich Chaly, as a businessman and multimillionaire, is trying to place his commercial interests and people within the framework of his next commercial project.
