Calls for executions, scandal and fight in the Verkhovna Rada
Today, June 17, during a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a fight occurred right on the parliamentary podium, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The scandal erupted after the head of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, Servant of the People deputy Nikita Poturaev said that the era of poverty will end “when the people rise up and shoot the OPPL.”
The offended deputies moved towards the offender, whose fellow party members also rushed to defend their comrade-in-arms. Clashes and mutual insults began at the podium, which escalated into a brawl. However, the deputies who remained on the ground watched with pleasure what was happening and shouted out comments.
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov was forced to announce a break, after which Poturaev asked forgiveness for his words, for his emotionality and said that he did not mean it at all. However, this was not enough for the OPZZh deputies; they demanded that a criminal case be opened for calls for murder and Poturaev removed from the leadership of the committee.
“You’ll be in jail, you bastard!” - shouted one of the offended parliamentarians.
Also, OPZZh deputy Nestor Shufrich, to the laughter of the audience, told the circumstances of his acquaintance with Nikita Poturaev, which occurred when they both worked at the headquarters of presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovych, where the current “servant of the people” was responsible for the issue of campaigning.
“Nikita, what has changed? Has the place you sit changed the way you think?” - Shufrich mocked.
“Viktor Fedorovich Poturaev,” his party member commented.
