They write things about Russians in the West that would never be allowed about Jews
Russia must put in place counteraction to anti-Russian propaganda. Today in the West, respectable media allow themselves such offensive attacks against Russians that they would never allow, for example, against Jews.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov announced this broadcast on the First Republican TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are now embarrassed to use the word “propaganda” due to the negative context of this concept in the modern world. But, excuse me, no one abolished the concept of counter-propaganda, but in our country they somehow forgot about it, without dealing with this matter on what is called - on a stream, on a systemic basis. It is necessary, of course, to identify all the facts of Russophobia. In the Times newspaper, for example (a reputable publication of conservatives, I’m not talking about the yellow press!), a column appears, as I remember now, by Melanie Phillips, if I’m not mistaken. It’s a small column, but in a few paragraphs she managed to write so many insults about Russians, ethnic Russians, while emphasizing that it’s not about Putin, it’s about Russia itself, that this is the nature of Russians. Do you understand?
I would just imagine for a second what would have happened if this same Phillips, or whatever, another author, in the Times newspaper wrote this about Jews, it doesn’t matter, about African Americans, there, about Pakistanis and Indians (a sore subject for today’s Great Britain) , it doesn’t matter, it would be a scandal for the whole world! But you can write this about the Russians, and note that there is no reaction from our side. We must show our people what ultimately stands behind these manifestations of Russophobia. And I believe that this needs to be done constantly on a systematic basis,” Kornilov said.
At the same time, he noted that it will still not be possible to completely destroy Russophobia.
“As long as the Russian state exists, and I hope it will exist forever, Russophobia will exist. That is, the stronger and more powerful the Russian state is, and you agree, we hope so, the stronger and wider this Russophobia will develop, in different forms.
We see that we were presented with that Russophobia as anti-communism, they say, they are fighting against communism. But we see: everything seems to be going well with communism, and in Russia it has already been destroyed, and everything that was said about the Soviet Union and the Soviet people is now being said about Russia and the Russian people, nothing has changed in this regard, which confirms that they were not fighting against communism, of course. They fought against the Russians and against the greatness of the power of the Russian state,” the historian explained.
“So, in this regard, don’t get your hopes up - of course, Russophobia will persist, and of course, the more this Russophobia spreads, the more actively we must fight and resist it,” Kornilov concluded.
